Dr. Matthew Jacobsen
Dr. Matt Jacobsen is originally from Layton, Utah where he graduated from Northridge High School. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah in Biomedical Engineering. He went on to attend dental school at Creighton University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He had a great experience in dental school and made incredible lifetime friends with patients, class mates, and instructors. Half-way through dental school, Dr. Matt discovered that working on kids was a blast and decided that he would dedicate his career to pediatrics. He went on to complete his residency in pediatric dentistry at Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City. This wonderful 2-year experience beyond dental school opened his eyes to the intricacies and joys of pediatric dentistry and prepared him well to care for children of all ages, including those with special health care needs. During his time at Primary Children’s, Dr. Matt was nominated for resident of the year which included all departments throughout the entire hospital. He also was a recipient of the Pugh Achievement award which is given to the top 3% nationally on the board qualification exam. He is Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association the Utah Dental Association. Dr. Matt has now been practicing pediatric dentistry on the Wasatch front for several years and calls Herriman home. His favorite part of his job is getting to interact with so many different kids and their parents. He loves all of their unique personalities and the fact that there is never a dull moment! His greatest satisfaction comes from providing excellent dental care to his patients and helping them (and their parents!) start to love coming to the dental office.
Dr. Matt is married to his much better half, Melanie Jacobsen. Melanie is an amazing multi-tasker and is a Certified Public Accountant in addition to being an incredible wife and mother. They have 4 incredible children who never fail to add excitement to their lives. They love to get out of the house and go to the aquarium, thanksgiving point, hiking and camping in the mountains, or boating and fishing on many of the surrounding reservoirs.
